Traveling expenses

Thought I'd take this limbo time to update our recent costs to travel.

Stay in the Tonto National Forest while Volunteering = $0 (20 hours/week volunteer time)
Stay in the RV park = $390 per month for 3 months, utilities included.
Flight to Honolulu Hawaii for the 3 of us from Mesa, AZ = $429 (
Stay at the Ramada for 4 days until our flight leaves = $160

Going forward , car storage will be $19.99 for the first month, $45/month after

While staying in the RV park, Amber worked at the local convenience store while I worked as a cook/bartender next door at the local watering hole. We hope to supplement our income by doing odd jobs like this everywhere we go. Not only does it offset the costs, but it really helps us to integrate with the local community.

Safe Travels,

  1. Love you guys! So great to see this in action!

    Safe travels!

  2. Thanks Lena! Love you too {{HUGS}}

  3. I just stumbled upon your blog (I think from a post in the facebook page Free Your Kids) and I just wanna say that you guys are such an inspiration!!
    I am a single mom, and I really hope that one day we can go on a similar life adventure that you are! Ever since I was a little kid, I have wanted to travel the world. I couldn't tell you how many times I have dreamed of just up and going.... If only I had my lisence and a few bucks to buy a small RV or something similar, I just might... ;)
    You guys are truly an inspiration <3

    Much love and light to your family on your travels

    1. Britt,
      Thank you so much for your kind words. So nice to see a fellow admirer of Free Your Kids decided to give our blog a glance. Our best advice...just do it. Start small. Our first "home" on this journey was a $700 pop up camper. It can be done on a budget, though it didn't hurt that we created a small "nest egg" by selling our belongings prior to beginning our journey. Please keep reading!
